Dong vs. Dong issues – Official Statement

by elioncho

We’ve received numerous complaints from people who haven’t been able to run “Dong vs Dong” on their computers. Elioncho was having this issue too, and at this point I’m not sure if either the game was packaged incorrectly or if the people who tried running the game don’t meet the system requirements. But don’t worry, I’m currently looking into this problem and will let you know when I have found a solution. Thanks a lot for your patience

David Singer

by elioncho

Today we want to talk about David Singer, the man who dared not to sell the domain we thrived to own: www.buttonsmashers.com. We made our own investigations and found out that he has got the domain under his name for the last seven years. Seven years and all you get when you browse it is a “Page Not Found”.

We wrote him an e-mail:

Dear David,

I am interested in the domain “www.buttonsmashers.com” listed under your name. Are you selling it? If so, which is the price you’re asking for. Thanks,

Elioncho

And all that we got back was a miserable:

Thanks for the inquiry, but the domain is not for sale.

David

So we wrote him back:

Dear David,

I know you’ve been unconvinced, and I’m prepared to compensate you. How much will it be 1 million US dollars? Very well, make it 2 million US dollars.

Thanks,

Elioncho

Apparently there are a handful of things that might be going on in his life:

1) He has been working secretely on his website for 7 years, thinking about releasing it very soon (HIGHLY unlikely).

2) He doesnt know that HTML exists, hence he’s been developing his own hypertext language (for example SHTML) for the past 7 years, together with contacting Microsoft and the Mozilla people so that their browsers can support it.

3) Hes trying to learn HTML but keeps falling asleep on his book every hour -> this seems to have been happening since 2001.

Kind Regards,

TioGus and Elioncho

The week in updates II

by elioncho

I’m pleased to announce that Brain Dead Studios will be publishing some past work of ours that has never been published under the Brain Dead Studios banner. The sole purpose of this is to do a compilation of past work that might be worthy of publishing. Our philosophy here is simple: Make the kind of games we wanna play and have fun working on them. Our projects are not limited to games for a specific audience or for a target platform – we’ve worked on things like: Maps and levels for a particular game engine, OpenGL, Direct3D, XNA apps and games, Web applications, etc. Anything that might cross our minds and which might sound challenging and fun to work on at the time, we go ahead and do it. Keep checking the BIOS page for any new posted projects

The week in updates

by elioncho

It’s been a long time since I’ve made a post with any relevant significance and now I find myself eager to share with you the undergoing developments inside Brain Dead Studios. Buffered Games, a subsidiary of Brain Dead Studios, has been organized to lead our current web-based projects. We’ve been learning many things along the way (After dwelling with mods, unfinished and never released DOOM Wads, etc) but theres something we know is certain: Networked web-based games are the future, and Buffered Games will be fully committed towards raising the bar in this fast-growing industry. Our projects at this point are 100% confidential but we will be revealing some of our work in small chunks (for all fans out there – if any). As Elioncho announced earlier today, we’ve been working on our network technology and optimizing it as good as we can (or as good as our skills allow us to). This technology will be the de facto standard for network code to be used on all of our future projects, and the basic premise is to improve it day by day as we learn new techniques or advances in this discipline. I’ll keep you posted with other exciting things going on here at Brain Dead Studios
