de_parking_deck
Catalogued simply as a by-product of TioGus’s unearthly desire to dwelve into the Counterstrike map making modscene. It was supposed to be the first of a series of Counterstrike maps by TioGus based on real life locations or structures. As usual, the announcement of this “map pack” turned out to be horrible, horrible lies. The second map being de_lost_station: based on a fictitious (and blocky-looking) underground subway station taking place in a Half-Lifeish looking universe. Some screenshots of this map exist, but the actual map died after an inevitable C: Hard Drive formatting procedure.
de_parking_deck started as a project to make a “really cool” level based on CGI Federal’s employee parking deck (Location at 12601 Fair Lakes Circle, Fairfax, VA 22033). Turned out that the terminology “really cool” ended up really meaning “amateurish”. The map was put together after a week and a half, no consideration was taken to mimic the original parking deck to the most intricate detail. The emphasis was on gameplay (actual words from the developer) and it boasted a 3 story parking deck swamped with demolished cars, yellow lights that after 4 minutes started to burn ur retina, and a hideous albeit carefully designed staircase. In a nutshell, you could call it a 3 story junkyard in the true sense of the word.
Regardless of its looks, de_parking_deck was well received by thousands of Counterstrike players worldwide, many of them praising the action-packed staircase encounters with the Counterstrike bots (ask Shehryar and Awais for page-long anecdotes regarding these kind of encounters) and the countless cover and sniping points. The only complaint was over the spawning points – they were too close together to each other and caused some players to get stuck into other player’s models, rendering movement impossible for short periods of time.

Directions:
Uncompress the archive and dump the .bsp file on the Counterstrike: Source “maps” folder, you know how that goes. Play with dudes online or with your best friends, and if you suck – play with easy bots in order to feel better about yourself
System Requirements:
* Must have Counterstrike: Source installed and fully updated, DUH!
* Player must know how to operate the mouse and keyboard

Special thanks to:
Awais, Shehryar and the bots for testing

I still remember this – lots of memories and nostalgia from when I made it back in October or November 2005
